Threads' Annual Fashion Show: Time Warp and Weft

The show had three sections: past, present, and future... I designed a dress for the future!

The one I'm wearing on the left was designed by Allison Sharpe and I'm working on my design, modeled by Molly VanDeventer

T-shirt Recon!

So Von is in a choreographed dance this weekend. His choreographer gave him two large boxy shirts to cut up and such. All the dancers had shirts to reconstruct. I helped him and this is the best we could come up with:


Brings certain lyrics to mind: "I'm like a performer, the dancefloor is my stage... ...everybody let go, we can make the dancefloor just like a circus!" :)

New Year's

It's a little late for a new year's post... but I didn't make any New Year's resolutions this year. I am just now realizing that I've had a more positive mind overall:

1) I have a great job that I am working hard at...

2) I have a great social life and I've spent time with cherished friends and loved ones...

3) School has some exciting group projects in store for me...

4) I attended Schmooza Palooza yesterday, which was very value-added for me...

5) I'M WORKING OUT!

6) I paid my car off the last day of last year... and now I'm working on building my savings up.

I know its just the beginning and most of the time people will start something at the beginning of the year and it falls off toward the end (I can see that happening with my savings account :P). But most of my accomplishments are things that have become a way of life for me, and I think I can keep it up. Wish me luck and tell me about your resolutions!

Side Note

Hello all,

No project to display today, just a random little blog.
I've been pretty busy procrastinating all my school work. I've got a paper to write on the situational/swot analysis of a retail brand.
I got a speeding ticket on my way to some interviews (I GOT THE JOB!)...
And there's this one random girl who has been annoying the heck out of me... (She all up in my BIIIIZ)

So... hopefully I'll have something to share soon. But for now, this will have to suffice.

Dress out of two old Tees

Again, inspired by Threadbanger :)

Two Old T-shirts (one Large and one Medium)

and it called for a piece of elastic at the waistline. I just used an elastic headband

(Kathy, if you're reading this... Sorry I used it without asking... You left it in my room and you have a gazillion of them).

AND VOILA!

Complete with cowl neck and pockets. :)

I had four buttons I was going to sew to the pockets, but believe it or not, I CAN'T find a sewing needle. :( So its not TOTALLY finished.. but you get the jist of it.
